Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, Attends the 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum

      On July 22, 2021, the 12th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum co-hosted by China International Contractors Association and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute opened in Macao. The forum, themed on "jointly promoting the new development of international infrastructure cooperation", focuses on financial innovation and the combination of industry and finance, and highlights the new opportunities and challenges under the background of "double carbon drive"(peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060). Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ren Hongbin, Assistant Minister of Commerce of China, and other officials addressed the conference. Fang Qiuchen, President of China International Contractors Association, presided over the opening ceremony. Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction and Vice President of China International Contractors Association, was invited to attend the forum, accompanied by Yang Jianqiang, Executive Vice General Manager of CITIC Construction.
       After the opening ceremony, a forum themed on "development trend, opportunities and challenges of international infrastructure under the background of 'double carbon'" was held. Chen Xiaojia was invited as a distinguished guest to deliver a speech at the forum. Chen Xiaojia introduced CITIC Construction's successful attempts in green project design, low-carbon technology R&D and application, business model innovation and expansion of green financial channels; on the basis of "double carbon" goal, CITIC Construction will further make good use of the synergistic advantages of CITIC Group, adhere to the unified deployment of the group, make its efforts in markets of the Belt and Road countries, implement green and low-carbon transformation in large infrastructure projects in a bid to become a leading player of the industry and demonstrate its high-quality projects. At the forum, Chen Xiaojia answered the questions raised by the moderator.
       During the forum, Chen Xiaojia also attended quite a few business activities hosted by domestic and overseas financial institutions and well-known enterprises.
       As the most influential industry conference in the field of international infrastructure investment and construction, this forum attracted more than 1,300 people from more than 500 organizations of 71 countries and regions, including 25 international financial institutions and 64 of the world's top 250 international contractors to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by international infrastructure cooperation in the post-epidemic era, and how the international industry can overcome difficulties and promote the sustainable development of global infrastructure through enhanced cooperation as well as other topics.
