
In the project involving the railway of a total length of 30.5 km, CITIC Construction was in charge of the design, supply and installation of traction power supply and overhead lines. As Hong Kong's largest infrastructure project then, the West Rail Line Project began in October 1999 and was completed in October 2003. The project was designed to provide convenient and efficient railway services for the booming Northwest New Territories and Kowloon Downtown.
