On May
17th, CITIC Construction and the National Road Corporation of Kazakhstan (ҚазАвтоЖол)
signed the EPC contract for the Karagandy –Balkhash Road Renovation
Project. The project, which has a total length of 363 kilometers, will upgrade
the existing 3rd-grade road to first-grade road. After completion,
the new road will become a key component of the Astana-Khorgos International
Passageway. The project is planned to obtain financing from the Export and
Import Bank of China. The execution of the project represents another example
of deep cooperation between the two parties after the contract for the TKU Road
Renovation Project was signed in May, 2016.
