On April 11, 2019 local time, the UK-based ABP Royal Albert Dock Project (Phase I) with CITIC Construction as the general contractor was completed and accepted, obtaining the acceptance certificate officially issued by the proprietor.
The general contract, valued at £222 million, was signed on December 13, 2016. Since the project was officially launched on April 25, 2017, the UK Division of CITIC Construction and the on-site project team have worked very hard and overcome difficulties arising from the unfamiliar market environment, complex transaction structure and numerous stakeholders before they finally completed the project. The project has fulfilled or gone beyond what is required by the contract regarding safety, quality, cost control, environmental protection, among others. The expected objectives have been fully accomplished.
Through the successful implementation and delivery of the project, CITIC Construction has gained experience in operating in developed countries’ construction market and laid a solid foundation for further market development in the UK.
