On September 28, 2011, a delegation of four members, including Liu Bingxin, Assistant President of CITIC Construction and Deputy General Manager of the Division of Venezuela of CITIC Construction, met with Venezuelan Vice President Elias Jaua. Venezuelan Housing Minister Ricardo Antonio Molina Penaloza was also present.
Liu elaborated on the overall situation of the project and the latest progress of the Marizapa block. Jaua spoke highly of CITIC Construction’s efforts in the social housing project in Venezuela, pledging to continue supporting the project, and hoping CITIC Construction will complete the construction of 1,160 suites by late September, 2012.
During the meeting, President Hugo Chavez called to inquire about the progress. Liu said the project has progressed smoothly so far, and invited Chavez to the delivery ceremony of the Palma Sola block in Barinas this November. Chavez readily accepted the invitation.
