
On September 12, 2011, the Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, on a visit to Angola, visited the Angola K.K. project of the Regional Division of South Africa of CITIC Construction. Peng Ming, vice president of the division, showed the president around the project site.
Before the sandbox of the K.K. project, the president listened to the details of work,such as project planning and implementations, and admired the super scale of the project. He also enthusiastically inquired into the detailed functions of the supporting municipal facilities of the project.
With the smooth progression of the K.K. project, the influence of CITIC Construction in Angola and Africa has been growing. In 2011 alone, the project has attracted state heads,such as Guinean President, Alpha Conde, Namibian President, Hifikepunye Lucas Pohamba, East Timorese President, Jose Ramos Horta, former Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula, Lesotho Prime Minister, Bethuel Pakalitha Mosisili, Mozambican President, Armando Guebuza and Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. Notably, Angolan President, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, led high-ranking officials such as Vice President, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos and National Assembly Speaker, Antonio Paulo Kassoma, for the taking-over & ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first batch of blocks of the K.K. project. As a card project of Chinese enterprises in Angola, the K.K. project is playing an increasingly important role in building the new image of Chinese enterprises in Angola and Africa.
