On May 28, 2011, Hongbo, Director of CITIC Group and Chairman of CITIC Construction CO., LTD, inspected Mélange Farm , which was over 500 Kilometers far from the campsite of Angola Social Housing Kilamba Kiaxi (K.K.) Phase I.
After nine months of construction, CITIC Mélange Farm began to take shape. As of mid-May, 12000 hectares of wasteland has been reclaimed for farming; the subsoiling work of 5000 hectares of land has been done; and corn, dry rice, spring wheat and bean has been planted experimentally in 718 hectares of land.
Angola Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Economics, Angola Ambassador to China, and other Angola government officials had visited the project and highly praised the contribution China had made to the development of Angola’s Agriculture.
