In the afternoon of March 8, 2009, CICI’s West Package Project Department of Algeria East-West Expressway Project Initiated Voluntary Tree Planting Activity at the PK12+509 overpass area of W9 section. This activity painted color for the coming opening ceremony of W9 section. Bouteflika,, the president of Algeria will present in the ceremony.
It was a sunny day in Oran that day. The banner with Chinese/French slogan “International Women’s Day in Heart, China-Algeria Friendship in Hand” is very prominent in the PK12+509 overpass area of W9 section.Li Zheng Quan, Assistant General Manager of CICI and Executive deputy general Manager of West-Package Project Department gave a speech. Representing the Project Department, he expressed his thankfulness to the woman staffs for their all along hard working and selfless contribution. He pointed out that, in order to consolidate the traditional China-Algeria friendship and welcome president Bouteflika, this voluntary tree planting activity had very important significance.
Via close cooperation of sino-foreign staffs and around 3 hours of hard working, over 350 aspen trees, mulberry trees and chinar trees were standing rows and lines in the overpass area.
About 150 people, including the sino-Algeria staffs, international staffs, the representatives of The Owner and The Consultant, participated in the activity.
