
On September 12, 2011, the Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, on a visit to Angola, visited the Angola K.K. project of the Regional Division of South Africa of CITIC Construction. Peng Ming, vice president of the division, showed the president around the project site.
On August 31, 2011, McGraw-Hill released the list of the ENR-2011 Top 225 International Contractors. As a result, CITIC Construction ranked 32nd with a turnover of 3.25 billion US dollars, thus keeping the same ranking it got in 2010. Among Chinese companies, it ranked number 7.
On August 27, 2011, Gao Kexiang, a new ambassador to Angola, headed a delegation to CITIC Construction Regional Division of South Africa for an inspection. On the morning of August 26th, CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. held training for “Working Principles and Technical Actualities of Metro Vehicles”. Sun Tiejun, assistant general manager of CITIC Construction Middle East, as well as relevant personnel of the Iranian metro project department, vehicle project department, integrated development department and general department attended the training. On August 18, 2011, Mozambican President Armando Guebuza, and Lesotho Prime Minister Bethuel Pakalitha Mosisili successively visited the Angola social housing project of CITIC Construction Southern Africa. Both leaders spoke highly of the progress made in such a short period on the project. Major local media, such as Angola Public TV, covered the visit.
A few days ago, as a representative of famous mainland engineering contractors, Ma Chuanfu, Vice President of CITIC Construction Co., Ltd., headed to Taiwan for an exchange with the engineering enterprise delegation organized by the Association of Economy and Trade across Taiwan Straits (AETATS). More than 100 enterprise representatives from the engineering world of both sides attended the “Seminar on Cross-Straits Cooperation in Public Works”. On July 11th at 1 p.m., (Luanda Time) Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos attended the cornerstone laying ceremony for Angolan National Tourist Resort Project undertaken by CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. in Belas, Luanda, capital of Angola, and laid the first brick to symbolize the launch.
On the morning of July 7, 2011, Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos attended the completion ceremony of the 117 apartment buildings and 3,200 housing suites on the first four blocks of Phase I of K.K. Social Housing Project undertaken by CITIC Construction Co., Ltd., cutting the ribbon for the ceremony.
