
On April 11, 2011,Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, President of Algeria, attended the unveiling ceremony and cut the ribbon for the completion of West Section of West-East Expressway contracted by CITIC-CRCC Consortium, which marked a perfect conclusion of construction of West Section.
On the morning of Jan.28, 2011, Angola Minister of Agriculture Afonso Pedro Canga visited CITIC Construction Malnage Agriculture Project on the spot, accompanied by more than 20 officials from Angola Agriculture Ministry and Malange Agriculture Bureau.
On Dec.29, 2010, the 168-hour commissioning operation with full load of Brazil Candiota Coal-fired Power Plant Project successfully passed the test at 12:00, which marks that CITIC Construction completed all works in the Contract and passed the management right to the client.
At the threshold of Spring Festival, CITIC Construction Chairman Ms. Hong Bo, Vice President of CITIC Construction and Executive Deputy General Manager of America Region Mr. Tao Yang, Assistant President of CITIC Construction and Secretary of America Region Ms. Li Ling inspected Brazil Coking Plant Project and guided the work on site on Jan.30, 2011. They expressed sincere appreciation to the front line staff.
On Nov. 9, the 350WM sub-critical coal-fired generating units of C Section Boiler of Phase II of Brazil Candiota Coal-fired Power Plant Project successfully combined to the grid at 12:00 local time. The commissioning started from Oct. 23 and the units formally combined to the grid after numbers of tests. The units, with high-quality manufacture and installment, have been functioning stably after the combination and all the operational parameters meet the standards.
On Nov. 14, the power generation of coal-fired generating units of Brazil Candiota Coal-fired Power Plant reached the full capacity of 350MW at 17:28, after it started commissioning on Nov. 9 local time. All the parameters are normal at the full capacity and the vapor pressure & temperature are lower than specified indexes. The full-capacity commissioning of the project lays a solid foundation for the next 168-hour commissioning, acceptance and operation.
By Oct.11, Uzbekistan Potash Fertilizer Plant contracted by CITIC Construction has produced 10,000 tons of potash fertilizer since the first batch went off the production line on Aug. 19, 2010. It marks that the Uzbekistan Potash Fertilizer Plant owns feasible production technology, reliable equipment and products with stable quality, and it also marks the plant has entered into the commercial production phase from trial production phase. The successful repeated commissioning by CITIC Construction effectively guaranteed the safe and reliable operation of nearly 1,000 sets of equipment and devices.
On Oct. 10, 2010, PK138 road section (W8 section) of Algeria West-East Expressway Project, located in a border town between Algeria and Morocco, was completed and open to traffic. It marked that the construction of 359 kilometers-long West Section constructed alone by CITIC Construction was completed and put into operation. The West Section has been the first section open to traffic thoroughly among three sections of Algeria West-East Expressway Project.
At 1:00pm on Sep. 1, 2010, XJ Group—CITIC Construction Consortium was ceremoniously awarded Acceptance Certificate of Burma Multi-functional Diesel Engine Plant Project by Mr. U Aye Than, Chief of Burma Motor and Diesel Engine Industry Corporation (MADI) on behalf of the Employer at Hotel AMARA, Nay Pyi Taw. Mr. Chen Xiaojia, Vice President of CITIC Construction, was present at the ceremony and received the Acceptance Certificate.
On Sep.7, 2010, CITIC Construction Chongqing Yanjiang Project Department signed the Steel Supply Contract for 6 sections of the Phase I with CITIC International Co., Ltd. and other related construction partners.
