
On the afternoon of Sep. 8, 2010, the Boiler Chemical Cleaning of 350MW coal-fired generating units completed smoothly at C Section of Phase II of Brazil Candiota Coal-fired Power Plant Project. This was another milestone of the Project after the Boiler Hydraulic Testing on Jun. 15, which marked the project has entered the stage of comprehensive commissioning and laid a solid foundation for the upcoming Boiler Feed Air Igniting and Overall Start-up of Generating Units.
According to the newly-published ranking list from ENR, CITIC Construction ranked No.32 among the World's Top 225 Contractors, moving up 27 positions than last year. Since first appearance in the ranking list, CITIC Construction’s rank in ENR has rocketed in 4 consecutive years.
On Sep.3, 2009, a ceremony of tunnel entrance construction was held at Gushuyan 2# Tunnel of W3 Section of Chongqing Expressway Project contracted by CITIC Construction. Gushuyan 2# Tunnel was the first Tunnel that entered the phase of tunnel entrance construction in Chongqing Expressway Project, which marks that the project has entered a substantive phase of construction.
On Sep. 2, 2010, the Opening Ceremony of W7 Section was held in PK 83 of W7 Section by West Section Project Management Department of Algeria West-East Expressway Project contracted by CITIC Construction. The distinguished guests who attended the ceremony were Amar Ghoul, Algerian Public Works Minister, Liu Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Algeria and his wife Dai Guiqin, Lv Yifeng, Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Ambassy to Algeria, Bentabet Mokhtar, Governor of SIDI Bel Abbas, Nourri Abdelwahab, Governor of Tlemcen, Kamel Belatrecheb, General Manager of New Project Management Department, Wang Jiangsheng, Deputy-chairman of CITIC Construction and Chairman of CITIC-CRCC Consortium.
By July 31, 2010, the installation and commissioning of 15 ventilation units between S1 station and U1 station of the Northern Extension of Tehran Metro Line 1 Project had been completed ahead of schedule and put into business operation after being transferred to the client, which won praises from the client. The business operation of the ventilation units would effectively improve the environment of the stations.
On August 2, 2010, Mr. Liu Bingxin, General Manager Assistant of CITIC Construction and General Executive Manager of Venezuela Social Housing Project, visited and had a friendly meeting with Mr. Ricardo Antonio Molina Peñaloza, the newly-appointed Minister of Housing Ministry. Ms. Eva Cardozo, the Minister Assistant also attended the meeting.
On the morning of August 8, Mr. Yuan Shaobin, General Manager of CITIC Construction visisted and inspected the construction site of Brazil Candiota Power Plant and forwarded concrete proposals and requirements, accompanied by Deputy General Manager Mr. Tao Yang, General Manager Assistant Ms. Li Ling and Project Manager from a Chinese partner Mr. Chen Weidong. On the next morning, Mr. Yuan Shaobin paid a visit to Mr. Sereno Chaise, President of CGTEE, the Employer of Brazil Power Plant Project and other members of top management. Mr. Sereno Chaise highly appreciated CITIC Construction’s contribution to the Power Plant Project and expressed his satisfaction with the project progress.
In the afternoon of March 8, 2009, CICI’s West Package Project Department of Algeria East-West Expressway Project Initiated Voluntary Tree Planting Activity at the PK12+509 overpass area of W9 section. This activity painted color for the coming opening ceremony of W9 section. Bouteflika,, the president of Algeria will present in the ceremony.
On 3rd March 2009, the equipment unloading for heavy-lift shipment has been completed successfully by Candiota II Phase C Project Office, CITIC International Contracting Inc., it was a breakthrough of shipment unloading on Port of Rio Grande, Brazil.
On March 2nd, 2009, all the erection work of FZQ2200 tower crane was completed by Candiota (Brazil) thermal power plant project department, CITIC International Contracting Inc. This created a good condition for the equipment installation of power plant at the next step.
