
Tao Yang, President of CITIC Construction, and Kyaw Win, President of Shwe Than Lwin Group signed the strategic cooperation agreement in Rangoon on September 21, 2019. Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific Division has signed a MoU on cooperation with the subsidiary company of Shwe Than Lwin Group on seven projects including the water and land transportation of the Irrawaddy River.
On September 16,2019, Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, and Alan Belfield, Chair of Arup Group, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation at CITIC headquarters (CITIC Tower) in Beijing as both sides aimed to strengthen cooperation in the global market. Richard Burn, HM Trade Commissioner for China, Tom Duke, Minister Counsellor at Department of International Trade and British Embassy Beijing, and Tao Yang, President of CITIC Construction witnessed the signing ceremony.
The major structure of Flour Mill Workshop in CTTIC Construction’s Belarusian Agro-industrial Complex Project has successfully sealed the roof on September 6, 2019. General Manager of the Proprietary Office Uritsky and representative of project supervision Nicola attended the ceremony.
China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) held the 2019 International Project Management Forum in Beijing on September 5. Representatives from 75 Chinese enterprises listed in the “ENR’s 2019 top 250 international contractors” attended the conference, and nearly 400 representatives from CHINCA members, consulting institutions, think tanks and media attended the conference. CITIC Construction is a listed enterprise and a CHINCA vice-chairman member. Fan Zheng, Vice President of CITIC Construction, attended the meeting.
On August 30, 2019, co-organized by H.R. Department, the final of English Proficiency Competition themed carrying forward the traditional merits of CITIC Construction within 40 Years and pursuing dreams at youth was hosted by CITIC Construction Labor Union. Six contestants and six teams from different divisions competed in the forms of English speech contest and scene play respectively. Tao Yang, President of CITIC Construction, attended and addressed the award ceremony. On August 14, 2019, at the invitation of the independent director of CITIC Limited, Tao Yang, President of CITIC Construction, gave a special lecture to trainees of the Asian-African Institutes of International Law in Hong Kong. More than 40 diplomats and senior government officials from countries along the Belt and Road were present at the event.
On July 17, 2019, Royal Albert Dock Project (RAD) (phase I) contracted by CITIC Construction obtained the excellent certificate of BREEAM, whose rating exceeded the good grade required by the contract.
On July 19, 2019, CITIC Centennial (Angola) Vocational School held the 2019 commencement ceremony. More than 300 people including Murtala, new mayor of Kilamba, relevant personnel of the municipal government, teachers and students of the vocational school and graduates’ families attended the ceremony.
The signing ceremony of a social housing project of 35,000 houses in Mozambique was held in Maputo Gloria International Conference Center at 9:00 a.m. on July 17, 2019. Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, and Alemindo, President of Mozambique 35,000 housing co. ltd. signed the EPC general contract of the project on behalf of China and Mozambique. Liu Xiaoguang, the Business Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique, and Joao Machatine, Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources of Mozambique witnessed the moment together.
