On May 21st, 2019, the inauguration ceremony of the aluminum profile factory invested by CITIC Alumínio (Angola) Co., Ltd. was held in the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE). Gong Tao, Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Li Yongjun, Counselor of Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Angola, Tao Yang, President of the CITIC Construction, Licínio Contreiras, Director of the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), and Carlos Neto André, Executive Director of the Luanda-Bengo ZEE attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon for it.
On May 13, 2019, Ana Paula Chantre Luna de Carvalho, Angolan Minister of Spatial Planning and Housing, João Baptista Borges, Minister of Energy and Water and Sérgio Luther Rescova Joaquim, Governor of Luanda Province, accompanied by Li Zhengquan, Vice President of the CITIC Construction and General Manager of its Africa Division, made a joint inspection to the Kilamba New City and the accessorial water purification and sewage treatment plants. Then a coordination meeting on the work of the Kilamba New City Project was held at the CITIC Construction’s Africa Division camp.
On May 7, the 7th Session of the 7th Council of China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) was held in Beijing. Representatives from the 48 vice-chairman members attended the meeting. Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction and Vice Chairman of CHINCA was invited to attend the meeting and gave a keynote speech.
On April 24, 2019, at the invitation of Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, a seven-member delegation from CITIC BN Vocational School (BNVS) Angola visited China for the "BN Charity" show and paid a study tour to CITIC Construction’s headquarters. Piao Bo, Vice President of CITIC Construction, met with the delegation. Yu Zhongmao, Head Supervisor of BNVS, and Zhang Changxin, Head Executive Officer of BNVS, attended the meeting.
On April 25, 2019, Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, paid a courtesy call on Filipe Nyusi, President of Mozambique, who was attending the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.
Accompanied by Li Zhengquan, Vice President of the CITIC Construction and General Manager of Africa Division, Marcos Alexandre Nhunga, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Angola, inspected the Catete farm run by the Africa Division of CITIC Construction on April 18th, 2019.
On April 11, 2019 local time, the UK-based ABP Royal Albert Dock Project (Phase I) with CITIC Construction as the general contractor was completed and accepted, obtaining the acceptance certificate officially issued by the proprietor.
Chen Xiaojia, Chairman of CITIC Construction, paid a visit to BN Vocational School (BNVS) upon invitation on April 9, 2019, where he exchanged views with Ms. Yao Li, Board Chairperson of BNVS on further development of the CITIC BNVS in Angola, and held a symposium with the main leaders of the school.
On the morning of March 26, 2019, Yang Jianqiang, Vice President of CITIC Construction, and Vladimir Kukharev, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, jointly attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Belarusian agro-industrial complex project, marking that the civil construction work of the project officially begins while pouring the first concrete of the feed mill.
The first China-Italy Third Party Market Cooperation Forum (CITPMCF) was held in Rome, Italy on March 22, 2019. Chairman of CITIC Construction Chen Xiaojia attended upon invitation the forum and presided over the parallel forum of infrastructure and communications.
